On the back: "AC2 D. M. Heddle, October 27th 1943. For my dearest wife." Dunbar wanted to join the Canadian Air Force but discovered that he was colorblind and hence disqualified to be a pilot. He instead was a trainer, training other pilots to go out and fight.
