McLAREN, Dorothy Edith (nee Bastedo) Passed away peacefully at Sunrise Assisted Living, Oakville, on July 20, 2011 at the end of her 99th year. Predeceased by her husband Richard "Dick" E. McLaren. Lovingly remembered by her two sons George and Richard (Shelagh) and her grandchildren Chris (Gil), Heather (Marc), Sandy (Sue), Rob (Margaret), Josh (Victoria), Zach (Jessica), and Morgan (Lisa). She will also be missed by her great-grand- children Ethan, Skye, Charlotte, Amelia, Natalie, Graeme, Liam, Xavier, Trevor and Tristan. Mother was involved with several organizations throughout her life, including The Women's Wentworth Historical Society and oversaw the transferring of Battlefield House (now a National Historic Site) to the care of the Niagara Parks Commission and the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (Paardeburg Chapter). She and Dad enjoyed curling at the Hamilton Thistle Club and travelling the world. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 29 at 12 noon with visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 645 Forest Ave., Hamilton. Cremation to follow.
